Frequently Asked Questions...

How Do I Start?
The best place to start is to begin to gather together all of the materials you want to use in your DVD. These may include photographs (print or digital), slides, camcorder video, VHS tapes, announcements, letters, cards, articles, or anything special relating to the person for whom the DVD is for. Put the materials, such as photos, into a suggested order in which you would like to see them. You can label the backs of the photos or make notes of video clips you would like included.

Once I Have My Materials Together, What Then?
Once you have your materials together, you can then think about what kind of music you would like to use. The music can convey sentiment (love songs), or laughter (funny songs), or you can use a mixture of both for different sections of the DVD. We can guide you along the way with suggestions from our extensive music library. You may want to use special songs from a specific period in the subject's life (wedding song), songs from their favorite artists, or music from a particular era (40's, 50's, 60's, etc.).

What Other Information Do You Need?
We like to know as much as possible about the subject's interests, favorite movies, special memories, etc. that may help us make suggestions or include special effects into your DVD. We would also need to know of any special title pages you would like and any special wording you would want to include at the beginning or end of the DVD.

What is NOT included in your Per Photo Pricing?
Our per photo or per video clip rate includes all of our services in completing your customized DVD, such as menus, titles, "pan and zoom", special effect transitions, one review DVD mid-way through the project, one original final DVD, and a customized DVD case. You can provide your own music on CD or we will purchase your music for you for $.99 per song. If you would like additional copies of the DVD, we can provide those to you for $15.00 per copy. Some of our customers have requested a professional personalized voiceover or narration to include at the beginning or end of their project. These voiceovers usually cost between $25-$35, depending on the length of the script. Other customers have simply done their own personalized message on their computer (in .wav format) or by using a home video camera. We have then used only the audio portion of the tape to include their special message on the DVD. Also, any overnight shipping charges incurred during the course of the project (returning original materials or overnight shipping due to time constraints) are not included. They will be added to your invoice at the completion of the project.

How Do I Ship My Materials?
We request that you ship your materials using a service that enables you and ReelVisions to track your package, such as Federal Express or UPS. We also ask that you require a signature upon delivery to ReelVisions to ensure that your package is promptly logged in and we can immediately notify you via e-mail that it has arrived safely. We will return your materials in exactly the same way and notify you as to what day to expect its arrival.

Can I Use Older 8mm and Super 8 Reel to Reel Movie Clips in my DVD?
Unfortunately at this time, we cannot convert the older 8mm reeled movies into a digital format for use in the DVD. Should you want to include clips from those movie reels, we suggest you take them to a reputable camera shop for cleaning and conversion to VHS. We can then capture the clips you would like to use from the VHS tape. We do hope to offer this type of conversion in the near future.

How Do I Request A Custom Sample?
It's easy. Just e-mail us 7 or 8 photos with the occasion you have in mind (child's birthday, parents' anniversary, etc.). You can request a song or leave it up to us, and we will e-mail you a custom sample using those photos that can be played back on most computers.

What Other Services Do You Offer?
We offer many other services and gift suggestions, such as video scrapbooks, video resumes, holiday greeting DVDs, team and individual sports DVDs, trade show presentations, and many other corporate services. We also offer straight video to DVD transfer, with or without menus, or straight photos or slides to DVD. We can also furnish your finished product on VHS or a CD (size restrictions). Just call or e-mail us with your special request.

How Long Will It Take You to Complete My Project?
Of course, this will depend upon the services that you require. DVDs containing photos and video can be completed in two to three weeks, which includes a review DVD halfway through the project. We are also available to provide rush services due to unforeseen events such as funerals. We will do everything that we are able to accommodate your needs.
